Day 138

As I was walking to the chapel to get ready to march in the Homecoming parade, I stopped to admire this tree's yellow leaves in the morning sunshine.

Day 137

At our last spirit shout with my friend the Homecoming Queen.

138th Day

Scenes from one happy, beautiful MC Homecoming:
My brother, on the right, was crowned Junior Prince! I'm so proud =)
There are the bagpipes I've been longing to hear.

137th Day

Go ICS Trojans!

Day 136

It was a beautiful night for some football! And for a DYNASTY! With our overtime win tonight, we made it four years in a row as powderpuff football champions!

And tonight, the whole family was back together again! These two have called me Mom since freshman year in ILA. We were so happy to see our long lost Alison!

136th Day

This is one of my favorite bits of campus.

Day 135

"I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours hours in the open air."
-- Nathaniel Hawthorne
Oh Hawthorne, how I envy you! I would much rather spend my days outside than in class.

135th Day

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed, Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done, Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red, Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free. Nothin's worryin' me

It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me.

*Besides Happy Birthday, this is the first song I remember learning. My Aunt Gail taught it to me and we sang it all the time, rain or shine.

Day 134

Now that I finally have a bottle opener (and a Cubs one at that!), I can drink my Jarritos strawberry soda!

134th Day

Scenes from a Fall Break Tuesday:

Yummy chai and an adorable little spoon.

I have new purple shoes =)
I was seeing the world through tinted sunglasses today and fell in love with the color of this tree. However, when I took my sunglasses off I didn't love it as much. So this is me showing you the world through my eyes (well, my sunglasses).

133rd Day

Considering that I didn't leave the apartment at all yesterday, I gladly accepted an invite to lunch with Swice and Dave.  Oh Wicker Park, you're so full of hipsters and so fun to visit.

Day 133

It's beginning to look a lot like autumn on our front porch.

10 October 2010

Day 132

Homemade fish and chips were on the menu for Sunday dinner at my grandparents' -- not my grandma's chickens.
P.S. We don't eat our chickens.

132nd Day

A cluttered desk is a sign of a genius, right?

09 October 2010

Day 131

I took a strange liking to this "No Diving" sign. Quote of the day during our day of walking: "You're a submerged rock!"

Nothing beats taking a break for some pumpkin ice cream.

Day 130

On the rails to see the Chicago Fire take it to the Columbus Crew! And you can't get much closer than these seats!

131st Day

Despite the fact that we practically walked our feet off, Hope and I spent a beautiful October Saturday strolling along the edge of the city (almost all eight miles from my apartment to downtown).

130th Day

Oh Groupon how I love thee.  Our sweet seats were two rows behind the goal!

07 October 2010

Day 129

Yet another reason why I love autumn: Caramel Apple Pops.

129th Day

I love children with Radio Flyers. Makes me long for my childhood.
