19.2

We conquered our fears and rode the ferris wheel at Navy Pier.
I can't wait to visit these two in Arizona!

In the kitchen on Day 19

25 minute run. 50 pushups. And what do I decide to do when I'm done? Bake a cake -- cake pops to be precise. I had to break in my new matryoshka measuring cups.

19 June 2011

18.2

Dinner with fabulous friends who make me laugh out loud. These two have been absent from my life for far too long. I'm glad we've a few days together to remedy this absence.

Day 18 {Father's Day Flashback}

My dad is rad..
In Tennessee (I think?) Can I just say that I love the look on my face?
That's us in Florida. I'm rockin' red socks with my sandals. Sweet style for a one year old.
Happy Father's Day, Pops!

17.2

My darling mother sent me this photograph this morning and I just had to share.

At Home on Day 17...

Southbound. Windows down. And I know I'm almost home when I pass under this train bridge. About five minutes...unless I get stuck behind a tractor.
We named her Nuisance. Despite her name, I kinda like her.

Covert Ops on Day 16

Operation Rhubarb commenced at 1200 hours. Mission accomplished.
I love my job.
Nothing beats a brand spankin' new box of colored pencils. Especially when I'm using them to make the most awesome Father's Day card...ever.

16.2

Almost like Christmas in June.

16 June 2011

15.2

*Fingers crossed* this will be our new home in a little over a month!

Ballin' on Day 15

I still got it...

Day 14: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

A stormy Wednesday morning gave way to a beautiful evening. An unexpected dinner invitation totally made my day. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my entire life.

15 June 2011

14.2

Mmmmm... Falafill falafel =)

13.2

Now to try my hand at more useful plants, like basil and perhaps tomatoes.

14 June 2011

The Simple Things on Day 13

It's the simple things that keep me happy. Like finally having hot water again. Or a coworker taking me out to lunch. Or going for a run with a dear friend. And banana creme pie pudding cups. And a good autobiography. Life is good tonight!

13 June 2011

12.2

Now I know that Garth Brooks has friends in low places,
but I have friends in high places! Tonight we visited him at his job at the top of the John Hancock building! God put on a beautiful sunset show for us.

Day 12: Feeding My Addiction

Hi, my name's Hope and I am a Coca-Cola addict. My other addictions include, but are not limited to:
1. French Vanilla Dunkin' Donuts Coffee (sadly, I can no longer afford it).
2. Checking my email/Facebook/Twitter.
3. 1960s television and movies.
4. Listening to music...currently this song is on repeat.
5. Cinnamon Toast Crunch (sadly, I can no longer afford this either and I am forced to buy the generic Walmart brand).

Day 11: Chillin' Like Bob Dylan

My sister came to visit this lazy Sunday afternoon...
She brought me my awesome record player. It's sitting on my living room floor right now (as am I). The Civil Wars new album is lazily spinning and I am in love.
We had a picnic in front of Wallace Hall and enjoyed the cooler temperatures. It was a great way to relax after The Week That Wouldn't End.

11.2

Talk about the best kind of community booth.
Yeah for Andersonville's Midsommarfest! I just love this community.

On the stage on Day 10...

I spent so much time here over the past week, I think I could have gotten a theatre minor.

11 June 2011

10.2

Jimmy Redhead and his new niece, Adeline. I don't think I've ever held a 10-day-old before. She's so precious!

10 June 2011

9.2

Hamburger Mary's is perhaps the most entertaining and delicious restaurants in Andersonville.

Day 09 = Overtime

I've been workin' hard for my money. Straight through my lunch hour. And on Saturday too.

8.2

I got a little too excited when I went to the library. I need a day off to just catch up on my magazines.

Alums on Day 08...

I was so excited to have a Thursday evening off and to head to Buffalo Wild Wings with two awesome alums who are back in town to help with freshman orientation. We didn't really ever hang out when we were students, but I'm glad we finally got the chance. For the first time this summer, my apartment was filled with laughter and 90's music. I'm talking Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Mandy Moore.
6 presentations down, 6 more to go!

08 June 2011

7.2

I'm super excited that this kid lives so close now! Can Chicago handle our shenanigans???

Unwinding after a stressful Day 07...

3 presentations down...9 more to go this week. If you know me at all, you know how much I hate talking in front of people. Today, I was told I was a natural -- boy, do I have them fooled! After a long day at work, I was glad to unwind by eating dinner outside and drinking a nice cool g & t while laughing the night away about child prodigies. Life is good!

07 June 2011

6.2

Will you be our new apartment? Maybe so or maybe no.

Day 06: The Day My ID Died...

Dear Monmouth ID,
You sure picked a fine time to call it quits. Don't you know that there was a heat index of 105 and I had work to do? I know it's been a long four years and you are yellow and faded, but I need you to last me just a couple more months. Thanks in advance.

06 June 2011

Day 05 {was a great day for mail}

What a wonderful way to start my week -- a postcard from my partner in crime and a movie came in the mail this morning!

5.2

Today I traversed through Chinatown and was enamored by these men who were engrossed in a game I just couldn't for the life of me figure out.

05 June 2011

4.2

Braxton recording over the audio in Some Like it Hot at the Museum of the Moving Image. Check out the link to hear him. It's hilarious! And MMI is such a fabulous museum - I highly recommend it!

At the Barn on Day 04...

New baby chicks! We named them after British royalty, past and present.

And don't worry, we don't eat them.

04 June 2011

Poolside on Day 03...

Ah, la dolce far niente...

3.2

Yes, Chicago has the beautiful lakefront, but NYC wins when it comes to parks.
Above is Washington Square Park.

03 June 2011

Driving into Day 02

Sometimes I feel the need to hit the open road. Today was one of those sometimes.

2.2

If I were to move to New York...
I would live here in Brooklyn on Orange Street
and commute across the Brooklyn Bridge to work.
Sounds like a fabulous plan if only money for the above pictured home and finding a job in Manhattan weren't an issue. Drats!

Day 01: The Sequel

Yeah, that's me in there. This is how I spent my afternoon. With a blanket over my head. In the dark. I should have known that today was going to be bad when a fire alarm woke me up. Good news, I don't have a detached retina/I'm not going blind in my left eye anymore.

First day - take two

Alice in Wonderland in Central Park

365th Day

A year ago today I took a picture of one of my favorite buildings. Here I am posting a picture of one of my favorite buildings, the Flatiron Building in New York City!

Day 365

Time sure flies! A year ago today, I took a picture that looked a lot like this. Call me nostalgic or sentimental, but I had to end the year with the same shot. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us!

One year

Today is the one year anniversary of our photo-a-day blog! We've both had a very exciting year - we both graduated, we both took some road trips, went to some weddings, read a lot of books, played some fun games, found the beauty in the world around us, spent time with friends, and ate a lot of food!  We've had so much fun sharing our lives with you all and we hope that you've enjoyed checking in on us every so often. We so greatly appreciate your comments and we'd love to hear from you more often! *hint, hint*

We both have some exciting days/weeks/months ahead of us and we've decided to continue with our project but with a little variation. We're open to suggestions, such as a theme with just one picture a week. Or instead of both of us posting every day, we're strongly considering alternating days. What are your thoughts, dear followers?

Thank you!

Hope and Paige
